The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
