Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow periods of air raids in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
